Deaf and Hard of Hearing

    Program Description & Services Available:

The Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) program provides specialized instruction, audiology services, auditory-oral services, bilingual (American Sign Language and spoken English) services, ASL interpreter services, and DHH counseling to eligible students ages birth - 22 years as determined by the students' Individual Education Plan (IEP) teams.   The students' preferred communication modes (manual, oral) and language skills are considered along with hearing assistive technology (HAT), academic skills, and social-emotional development, as they relate to the identified hearing loss, to determine the least restrictive environment with available services to meet the students needs.  Professional development and technical support are available to the staff serving students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
