School Counseling

  • Our mission as counselors is to provide services for students to meet their academic, career, and social/emotional needs. We also aim to create a nurturing and safe environment by creating inclusive spaces and advocating for diversity. This is accomplished through collaboration with parents/guardians, staff, and community members to ensure the success and achievement of all our students.

    Middle School Civics EOC Requirement

    • Florida Statute 1003.4156 requires three middle grades or higher courses in social studies for promotion.
    • One course must be at least a one-semester civics education course.
    • Students transferring into Palm Beach County during their 7th grade year or during 1st semester of 8th grade must be enrolled in Civics if they have not already met the Civics requirement.
    • If an 8th grade transfer student has already completed two courses in social studies, he/she should be enrolled in Civics in lieu of M/J US History.
    • An 8th grade student who transfers in any time after 2nd semester begins is exempt from the Civics requirement, as long as the student will have completed three social studies courses by the end of 8th grade.
    • Students enrolled in Civics must take the EOC, which will constitute 30% of the student's final course grade.
