Digital Graphic Art & Design is focused on design thinking, problem solving, and exposing students to the many facets and careers that make up Digital Art & Design. Working both on and off the computer, students will be challenged to create unique designs, develop their drawing and critical thinking skills, and learn to navigate a world where designers are asked to wear many hats.Genesis Allione has devoted her entire life to the Arts as a freelance artist and as an art educator, and was a lifelong spectator to the Lake Worth Street Painting Festival in her hometown of Lake Worth, Florida since she was a child. Her first Chalk Art was as a Junior at A.W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts at the very same festival she loved attending. What started as a joyous avocation throughout the years since 2005, grew into a lifestyle she can't get enough of.
Genesis now travels all over Florida, getting her toes wet in other states, sharing her unique, colorful style, and her ever growing knowledge of Chalk Art with the community that she holds dear. She loves to experiment with her artistic 'Coil Effect' style techniques, surfaces and mediums. When not at events, you can find her painting and teaching at Plumosa School of the Arts in Delray, FL.
Visual Art
My name is Jamie L. Davis I am the Visual Art instructor at Plumosa. I earned a three year scholarship in the Visual Arts at Mercer University. There I studied Ceramics and Photography. Later on I apprenticed with a Master Watercolor artist for seven years.
Visual Art at Plumosa incorporates many art areas. The 2D and 3D art lessons are the main foundation for the upper elementary and middle school art education. Our students are introduced to ceramics, famous Artists, the elements and principles, areas of creativity, sculpture, and watercolor. The Kindergarten -2nd graders are exposed to a little of everything.
My philosophy about art is this, "Have an open mind with imaginative ideas and express those thoughts by using art materials." Mrs. Davis
Grade 3-5 Digital Media/Graphic Design
Mrs. Smollar leads this class in our media center. It is designed to introduce the ideas of graphic design to elementary students. Students work on projects that challenge their thinking and develop skills that involve collaboration, communication, critical thinking and creativity, working both individually and in groups.
