Dress Code

    The following dress code will go into effect at the beginning of the 2025 academic school year. All students are expected to adhere to the dress code while on campus.

    Tops

    Permitted

    • Polo style collared shirt
    • Congress Middle School spirit shirt
    • Solid color t-shirt

    Not Permitted

    • Sleeveless (ex: spaghetti strap)
    • Graphic t-shirts
    • Midriff revealing /see-through clothing
    • Vulgar; drug-related words
    • Pajamas

    Bottoms

    Permitted

    • Docker style pants or jeans
      • Pants MUST be worn at the waist
    • Shorts, skorts or skirts
      • MUST be longer than an arm’s length to the knee

    Not Permitted

    • Excessive rips
    • Athletic style shorts or pants
    • Low rise pants, pajama bottoms, leggings, tights
    • Yoga pants

    Shoes

    Permitted

    • Closed-toe and heel
    • Sneakers/athletic shoes preferred

    Not Permitted

    • Sandals, slippers, flip-flops, slides 
    • High-heeled shoes (safety) 
    • Crocs

    Jackets, Sweaters

    Permitted

    • Plain sweatshirt
      • An approved shirt must be worn underneath

    Not Permitted

    • Inappropriate pictures, words or slogans are prohibited

    General

    • IDs must be worn at all times while on campus and visible at all times.

    Not Permitted

    • Hats, caps, bandanas
    • Sunglasses
    • Exposed undergarments 
    • Offensive language or symbols
