Crestwood Middle Dress Code

    Crestwood Middle School is committed to establishing a safe environment where the focus is on academics.  It is the intent of the school program that students be dressed and groomed in an appropriate manner that will not interfere with, or detract from, the educational process. We continue to be committed to the belief that ALL students can learn and succeed! 

    Universal Student Identification Badges: Students are required to wear their IDs at all times while on campus. ID badges must be displayed above the waist, using a clip-on or lanyard. 

    All Clothing Must Fit Properly and Not Be Excessively Baggy or Too Tight.  Unreasonable Exposure of the Body is Strictly Prohibited. 

    Tops

    • Polo-Style Shirts - Solid colored with buttons
      • COLORS: Yellow, Black, White, Green, Purple, Blue and Gray
      • No logos larger than 3 inches – Must be on the front in the top left or right corner
      • Half-sleeve shirts and long-sleeve shirts are allowed.
      • Shirts must completely cover the underarms, abdomen, back, shoulders, midriff and chest at all times while sitting or standing.
      • No shirts that have plunging necklines.
      • No shirts folded or tied up in a knot or with a rubber band, scrunchie, etc.
      • No graphics with inappropriate words, slogans (drugs, tobacco, weapons, explicit or suggestive language, etc.)
    • T-shirts: Only Crestwood t-shirts (including the school logo) may be worn.
      • Students may purchase these items from the school store.
      • No shirts folded or tied up in a knot or with a rubber band, scrunchie, etc.
    • Academy & Team Shirts
      • Students will be able to purchase academy & team shirts through their designated teachers.
      • Academy & Team Shirt Days will be designated by administration; students will be informed of these dates throughout the school year.
      • No shirts folded or tied up in a knot or with a rubber band, scrunchie, etc.

    Undershirts

    • Solid colored t-shirts may only be worn UNDERNEATH the student’s polo-style shirt. 
      • COLORS: White, Yellow, Black, Green, Purple, Blue and Gray
      • No logos larger than 3 inches – Must be on the front in the top left or right corner
      • Half-sleeve shirts and long-sleeve shirts are allowed.
      • No shirts folded or tied up in a knot or with a rubber band, scrunchie, etc.
      • No shirts that reveal midriff/waistline or have plunging necklines.

    Dresses

    • COLORS: Yellow, Black, White, Green, Purple, Blue, Gray, Khaki, Navy, Blue denim or Black denim
    • All dresses must come below where the longest finger touches the leg when standing erect with shoulders relaxed.
    • Dresses with half-sleeves and full-sleeves are allowed.
    • Slits must not reach above the top of the kneecap.

    Jackets, Sweatshirts and Hoodies

    • SOLID COLORS: Black, White, Yellow, Green, Navy, Gray, Blue, Purple, Blue denim or Black denim
    • No logos larger than 3 inches – Must be on the front in the top left or right corner
    • Hoodies are not permitted to be worn on the head.
    • An approved school shirt must be worn under all jackets, sweatshirts and hoodies.
    • Jackets, sweatshirts and hoodies CANNOT be used to cover up a dress code violation.

    Bottoms

    • Docker-Style Pants, Jeans, Shorts, Skirts, Skorts, and Capris
      • SOLID COLORS: Navy, Black, Khaki, Blue denim or Black denim
      • All bottoms must fit properly (not be excessively baggy or too tight) and be worn at the natural waist.
      • All shorts, skirts, skorts, and capris must come below where the longest finger touches the leg when standing erect with shoulders relaxed.
      • No sweatpants, joggers, jeggings, yoga pants, leggings, tights, sleepwear / pajamas, spandex, biker shorts, basketball / athletic shorts, warm-up pants, and pants with oversized pockets
      • No pants that “sag” or reveal undergarments/underwear
      • No folding of bottoms at waistline
      • No holes, frays, slashes, rips or tears
      • No stockings (garter stockings or fishnet stockings)

    Head Coverings and Face Masks

    • Head coverings are not permitted. Exceptions will be based on administrative approval. A student’s face must be clearly visible at all times.  Face masks, when worn, may only cover the nose, mouth and chin.

    Footwear

    • Shoes consisting of a full, closed-toe, and closed-heel.
    • No sandals, cleats, high heels, platforms, crocs, slides, hydro-style mocs and/or flip-flops

    Spirit Days, Civic Observation Days, and Special School-wide Events

    • School administration will provide notification of the student dress code on these special days.

    Grace Period for New Students - A one-week grace period will be given to new students entering Crestwood Middle after the first week of school.
