Retrieving Results
Each exam series, students receive a form with their personal credentials for logging in to access exam scores.
Understanding scores: Letter grades of "a" through "e" are passing scores. "Ungraded" means a student did not earn enough points to pass the exam.
For the AICE Diploma: Scores of D, M, and P are PASSING diploma marks (D = with distinction, M = with merit, P = pass).
Exam Retakes
-
The deadline for registering for AICE retake exams in the fall exam series is Sept. 1, 2023.
CLICK HERE FOR FALL 2024 RETAKE EXAM REGISTRATION FORM
Remember, AICE exam RETAKES must be paid for in advance through Palm Beach Cashless Schools website: palmbeach.schoolcashonline.com. Click on "AICE RETAKE EXAM FEE: $115/exam." It will not have a specific exam subject name listed. You must complete the registration form (link above) to specify which retake exam.
Note: Retakes are NOT REQUIRED. They are for those seeking the AICE diploma who would like the opportunity to take an exam they were either absent for in the spring or for which they earned a failing exam grade. Retake exams are optional.

Exam Results FAQ
-
My score says ungraded, what does that mean?
An ungraded mark on an AICE exam is not a passing mark. Only scores of a-e are passing. I wish it just said, "fail", but it does not. It is important to remember that the grades are on Cambridge's grading scale, not an American grading scale. The score of "e" can be looked at as equivalent the the "AP" grade of 3. It is passing to count towards the AICE diploma and would grant college credit.
-
Is it necessary to take a retake for all failed exams?
In a normal scenario, no, it is not necessary. There are two main reasons students sign up for retake exams:
1 - they are working on the AICE diploma and are working to acquire seven passed exam points in three years.
2 - they are interested in earning the college credit for the course and feel strongly they would be successful at a second attempt.
Ultimately, the student has benefited from the internationally rich curriculum and the weighted GPA points, so re-taking an exam is not always necessary or helpful. -
Can parents request a re-score?
Our school's policy on ordering inquiry reports (technically a re-score) is strictly to support the curriculum and help the teachers to have a deeper understanding of the grading process. All inquiry report requests must come from the teachers of the course and we cover the costs, which include a $100 fee for each student, for each component of each exam we order (at least $200 per student exam). If a student feels strongly that their score is not accurate, I would first recommend the student to see the teacher to review the component breakdown reports.
-
Does a student need to retake the class if they received an ungraded result?
No, the Cambridge exam is completely separate from the 6.0 weighted GPA points earned in the course each semester.
-
How do I know if I'm on track for the AICE Diploma?
Students should check out the website to review the AICE diploma chart to ensure they are completing exam points in the proper categories. There is a wealth of information on our site regarding the AICE diploma, course descriptions, college equivalent credits, Re-take info., and much more. Students are always welcome to contact Mrs. Muncy either in the office or via e-mail.
