Spanish River Community High School is a top performing school in the “A” rated School District of Palm Beach County. The district is the 10th largest in the nation and operates a total of 180 schools: 109 elementary, 34 middle, 23 high, and 14 alternative, adult and community, and intermediate schools. Spanish River is located in Boca Raton, FL, a city with a thriving business community and a population of over 98,000 people.
Curriculum
Spanish River offers a college preparatory curriculum. Courses offered include regular, honors, Advanced Placement (AP), Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE), ESE, and dual enrollment. Offerings include 79 honors courses, 30 AP courses, and 20 AICE courses. In 2023, Spanish River students took 2,258 AP exams and 3,490 AICE exams. Dual Enrollment courses are offered through Florida Atlantic University and Palm Beach State College.
Spanish River offers three Choice Career Academies, which include the Biotechnology Academy, Entrepreneurial Academy, and the American History & Law Academy. In addition, we offer our in-house Teacher Academy. Students in these academies will take courses to meet their graduation requirements as well as electives in their academy area of study. Through community partnerships, students will have opportunities for valuable, real-world experiences.
