    Speech and Debate
    Speech and Debate club is an engaging and educational club designed to cultivate critical thinking, effective communication, and public speaking skills in young students. This club offers an opportunity for our students to explore various forms of competitive speaking, debate, and oral interpretation. They engage in friendly debates and have continuously placed against schools around the state. The club is available and open to 10-20 middle school students looking to possibly step out of their comfort zone and foster their love of public speaking. 

    Verde Chronicle
    The Verde Chronicle newspaper club offers 10-12 middle school students the opportunity to explore journalism, develop writing skills, and express their perspectives. Our goal is to foster a love for storytelling, improve research abilities, and encourage collaboration while keeping our school community informed and engaged. The students are the photographers, the reporters, editors, and designers for The Verde Chronicle. 

    Kindness 365
    The Kindness Matters 365 club meetings in middle school create an uplifting space where students come together to promote kindness, empathy, and community service. Each meeting is designed to inspire members to make a positive impact in their school and local community. Students engage in discussions about kindness-related topics, brainstorm and plan service projects, and participate in activities that foster compassion and inclusion. Whether it's organizing a school-wide kindness challenge or working on outreach projects like food drives or letters of gratitude, the club empowers students to spread positivity and make meaningful contributions. All middle school grades, 26 members.

    National Junior Honor Society
    The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) is a prestigious organization in the United States that recognizes outstanding middle school students for their academic achievement, leadership, service, character, and citizenship.We plan, organize and carry out several community service projects to help foster leadership and support others. The Verde Chapter has 87 students in grades 7-8. Each spring semester, sixth grade students are invited to apply. 

    Battle of the Books Elementary
    Battle of the Books is a competition in which students compete against each other using their understanding of the selected books.  The purpose of the competition is to promote literacy in the School District of Palm Beach County. Students form teams and compete by reading the books specified by the appropriate reading list for their grade level. This club is open to 40 students in Grades 3-5.

    Creative Writing
    The Creative Writing Club is designed to nurture students' love for storytelling by providing them with a fun and engaging environment to develop their writing skills in time for fourth grade. The goal is to help students explore different genres of writing, build confidence in their creativity, and improve their storytelling techniques. The club is open to 10-15 students from 3rd grade. This ensures each student receives personalized feedback and support.

    Mindful Movements
    Mindful Movements gives students a chance to practice mindfulness through gentle stretches, breathing exercises, positive affirmations, and stress management. Our goal is to support both mental and physical wellness by helping students relax, focus, and build confidence. The club provides a calming space where students can unwind, connect with their bodies, and start the day with a positive and ready to learn mindset! Open to all grade levels :)

    Reading Club (Lombardo)
    The Reading Club offers a supportive, small-group environment where students can focus on improving their skills in areas aligned with Florida's B.E.S.T. standards. Each session focuses on specific reading standards where students need extra help, including comprehension strategies, analysis of text structure, and making inferences. With individualized attention, the group allows for reteaching of key skills, collaborative discussions that help students grasp difficult concepts at their own pace.

    Student Voice
    Student Voice Committee offers 15-20 middle school students the chance to actively participate in shaping their school environment by sharing their perspectives, ideas, and concerns. Our goal is to empower students to become leaders, improve communication skills, and foster a sense of ownership and responsibility within the school community. Members serve as the voice of their peers, collaborating with school staff to address issues, plan events, and create positive change, making sure every student feels heard and valued.

    Puzzle/Problem Solving
    Puzzle and Problem-Solving Club offers students the opportunity to engage in mental wellness through fun, thought-provoking activities like jigsaw puzzles, brain teasers, and logic challenges. Our goal is to create a supportive space that fosters critical thinking, enhances problem-solving skills, and promotes collaboration. Whether you’re piecing together a puzzle or working through a tricky brain teaser, this club is a place for students to unwind, challenge their minds, and strengthen social connections in a calm, positive environment. All grades welcome!

    Minecraft
    Students can now safely have fun and socialize while learning in fascinating, hands on, inquiry based, problem
    solving, and critical thinking labs within our clubs, that are designed to breakdown the Science, Technology,
    Engineering, and Math components of each project.
    These labs and clubs are conducted by Certified Teachers and Instructors trained to teach STEM.

    SECME
    SECME stands for Science, Engineering, Communication, Mathematics, and Enrichment. This club offers hands-on experiences through engineering design and scientific investigation. 
    Goal:  Students build bridges, rockets, and bridges then compete at the district Olympiad. They also compete in a Brain Bowl competition.

    Chess
    The Chess Club for elementary and middle school students offers a welcoming and collaborative environment for young chess players. Each meeting focuses on learning and practicing various strategies, allowing students to both challenge themselves and support one another. The club also hosts classroom tournaments where participants can apply what they've learned in a fun, competitive atmosphere. 

    Middle School Drama Club
    The Middle School Drama Club is designed to allow students to express themselves through the performance and technical elements of theater.  While rehearsing for the end of the year performance, the students will create advertisements, set pieces, props, and all required show materials.  The club has about 40 members, and will work together throughout the year to put on a spectacular musical production.  

    Student Government
    Student Government plays a role in nurturing the leadership potential of our students while fostering a sense of belonging in the school community. The club serves as a platform for the students to voice their ideas and concerns as well as organizing and coordinating school events which not only create memorable experiences but also instill a sense of responsibility and teamwork. This club provides a foundation for future civic engagement, leadership, and personal growth as students transition into high school. With five officer positions and up to 20 representative positions there is plenty of opportunities for middle school students to be a part of leading!

    Brain power and fun collide in Mind Games.
    SCREEN-FREE games. Our S.T.E.M. based games go beyond the “screen” and provide challenging hands-on experiences while fostering positive social relationships. Studies show that learning through play will expand cognitive abilities and develop important life skills.
