Our mission as School Counselors is to provide services for all our students at Diamond View Elementary to assist them in meeting their academic, career, and social/emotional needs. We aim to create a nurturing and safe environment by creating inclusive spaces and advocating for diversity. This is accomplished through collaboration with parents/guardians, staff, and community members to ensure the success and achievement of all. While being a part of the Fine Arts Wheel, Ms. Ball (Kindergarten-Second grade) and Ms. Georges (Third-Fifth grade) provide whole group instruction, with topics including Positive Self-Talk, Assertiveness, Teamwork, Building and Maintaining Friendships, Conflict Resolution, Bullying, Goal Setting, and so much more! Our counselors also provide small group instruction for those students who may need a little extra assistance, whether that be academically, socially, or even behaviorally. For example, Zones of Regulation is a research-based intervention used to help students identify their emotions and gain skills to regulate their actions, leading to increased control and problem-solving abilities. Ms. Ball and Ms. Georges keep an open-door policy and are available to our students, staff, and families whenever they are needed!
