• The school day begins promptly at 8:00am and ends at 2:05pm.

    Students are dismissed according to the information supplied to us by parents. Please follow our organized procedures to ensure the safety of all students.

    Your cooperation in following these procedures and modeling safe behaviors for our children is appreciated! Our system will work very well when everyone works together.

    CAR LINE

    Morning Drop-Off Times: 7:30–8:00am

    Students are not to be dropped off before 7:30am due to safety and supervision purposes.

    The gates close at 8am; plan to sign your child in if they are tardy

    • It is very important to drop off your child(ren) by 7:55 am.
    • If they are not in their seat by 8:00, ready to learn, they are late.
    • It is very important to pick up your child(ren) on time.
    • School dismisses at 2:05; please do not arrive later than 2:15 pm.
    • Please refrain from using your cell phone while in the car line, safety is a priority.
    • Stay in a single line and follow the directions of staff members on duty.

    Please pull all the way forward.

    • Drivers are to drop off and pick up their child(ren) ONLY at the designated area located on the north side of the school. Students must enter/exit vehicles curbside.
    • Once you have discharged or picked up your child(ren) stay in a single line out to SW 8th Street. At the stop sign it is a RIGHT TURN ONLY on to SW 8th Street. (FYI – this is an enforceable sign by the Sheriff’s
    • Department and you may be ticketed).
    • Parking during the morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up times is not permitted. Only parents who have scheduled meetings are permitted to park their cars.
    • Loading and unloading students in the parking lot is not permitted.
    • Do not leave your car unattended in the car line.

    WALKERS

    Crossing guards are stationed at both SW 8th Street and Thames Blvd.

    WEST WALKERS:

    Morning Drop Off: Please do not walk your child past the Parents Stop Here sign. Afternoon Pick Up: Please wait on the west sidewalk; do not cross the street next to the bike rack. Please do not stand in front of the Administration Office or the Bike Rack.

    • It is dangerous to park on the side of the road off SW 8th Street and have your child meet you there. What happens to your child when you are late? Your child is left unsupervised.
    • Thames Blvd is not a car drop off or pick up area (that gate is for bikers and walkers only).

    EAST WALKERS:

    Please wait on the east side of Thames Blvd at the crosswalk.

    BIKE RIDERS

    • Bike Riders walk to the bike rack areas on the east or west side of school. They need to walk their bikes off campus, cross the street (SW 8th Street or Thames Blvd) at the crossing guard, and then ride home.
    • Bike Riders SHOULD HAVE LOCKS for their bikes, as the Bike Racks are NOT locked.

    PALM BEACH COUNTY SCHOOL BUS RIDERS and PRIVATE DAY CARE

    All Bus Riders walk to the east side of the campus and board the appropriate bus. Palm Beach County School Buses leave by 2:15 p.m.

    HAMMOCK POINTE AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

    Hammock Pointe After School Care children meet their counselors in a designated area as instructed by their teacher.

    • Students in our After School program will not be dismissed prior to 2:30pm. If it’s urgent and you will need your child prior to 2:30 please make dismissal change arrangements with the front office prior to 1:30pm.
    • If your child is going to be absent from After School, please be sure to call and let us know. We can be reached by phone: 561-477-2230
    • Please be sure to always have photo identification with you.

    DISMISSAL METHOD CHANGE

    • Permanent change in dismissal method
      • If your child’s method of dismissal will be changing, we require that you send a written note to your child’s teacher.
    • One-time change in dismissal method:
      • If a one-time change for emergency reasons is needed you MUST contact the front office PRIOR to 1:30pm or we are unable to accommodate your change request.

    EARLY DISMISSAL

    • Early dismissal is for emergencies only and MUST take place PRIOR to 1:30pm.
    • PLEASE NOTE that if your child is at lunch or fine arts it may take longer to sign them out and they will not have their backpacks.
    • UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES will a child be released to anyone not authorized by the parent. This authorization is established by written verification on the Student Registration Form. If there is a court order barring either parent from removing or contacting the student during the school day, a copy of that order MUST be on file and up to date in the school office.
    • You are required to show valid ID when picking up a student for early dismissal.
