Grassy Waters Dress for Success

  • The school’s dress code policy adheres to the “Higher Standard” (Uniform) code and has been approved by the School Advisory Council (SAC). Students who do not adhere to the dress code policy will receive a consequence, which may include a call home to have a parent/guardian bring appropriate clothing. If this is not an option, students will be provided with uniform garments from the school.

    Allowed Attire

    Tops

    • Any color collared shirt with sleeves (solid or striped)
    • Grassy Waters Elementary School Spirit Shirt

    Bottoms

    • Solid colors: navy, black, khaki, or gray
      • Boys: fitted shorts at the waist or elastic waist
      • Girls: skirts/skorts/shorts (fingertip length)
    • Long pants
    • Uniform jumper/dresses (solid colors & fingertip length)
    • FRIDAY ONLY - Denim jeans (no holes /distress /frayed /prints)
    • FRIDAY ONLY - Denim shorts (fingertip length) 

    Shoes

    • Enclosed toe and heel
    • Sneakers required for PE
    • Socks required at all times 

    Jacket / Sweaters

    • Jacket, sweater or sweatshirt with button or zipper front

     

    Not Allowed Attire

    Tops

    • Spaghetti straps/tank top
    • Shirts with logos or printing
    • Hoods are NOT to be worn inside school buildings

    Bottoms

    • NO sweatpants
    • NO basketball shorts/board shorts/gym shorts/yoga pants
    • NO shorts that are shorter than fingertip length
    • NO leggings or jeggings (only blue, black, khaki or navy allowed under skirts/shorts)

    Shoes

    • NO clogs, slides, or crocs
    • NO high heels
    • NO open toe or open heel
    • NO shoes with wheels

    Accessories

    • NO hats (exception in PE/Recess as sun protection)
    • Jewelry that may cause injury is not permitted
    • Refrain from excessive cologne or perfume as this can affect students’ health and breathing
