Reporting Out-of-Field Teachers to Parent/Guardian

  • This is a reminder that letters regarding Out-of-Field teachers have been sent home via backpacks. Per Florida Statute 1012.42, Teachers teaching out of field, and The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), it is required that schools notify you if your child has been assigned to a teacher who does not meet certification requirements for the grade level or subject (content) being taught. Although your child’s teacher holds a valid Florida teaching certificate, the teacher is classified as out-of-field (OOF) because they do not hold a certificate to teach the grade or subject (content) assigned. Should you have questions or need clarification regarding the parent/guardian notification process, please call (561) 924-6400 (HS) or (561) 924-6500 (MS).

Please check your child’s backpack to see if they have the letter.
