The course selection process for next year’s classes has now begun.
Course Selection Process Timeline
- Jan 16 - Parent Coffee Talk: The Registration Process
- Jan 21-23 - Student Grade Level Registration Assemblies, Period 5
- Jan 23 - AP/AICE/Dual Enrollment Showcase, During Lunch, Gym
- Jan 24 - AP/AICE online applications open.
- Jan 30 - AP & AICE applications are due ONLINE by midnight.
- Jan 31 - Students will receive course selection sheets, Period 5.
- Feb 7 - AP & AICE acceptance lists will be posted at 6:00 am online.
- Feb 21 - Course selection sheets are due to Period 5 teachers.
- Feb 25 - Dual Enrollment Assembly for students interested in a Summer B or Fall dual enrollment courses.
- Apr 1-30 - Students will meet with their school counselors to finalize 2025-2026 courses.
- May 16 - Final changes to course requests are due.
- Students must see their counselors in person no later than this date in order to make a change. Counselors are in their offices, before school, during lunch, and after school.
- Any paperwork or recommendations that are required must be handed in by this date.
Students requesting a No Class or an Off Campus FLVS period must meet the eligibility requirements by this date. - ANY CHANGES REQUESTED AFTER THIS DATE MAY NOT BE ABLE TO BE PROCESSED BEFORE COURSE REQUESTS ARE LOCKED.
- May 29 - Course requests will be automatically locked. No further changes can be made. ELECTIVES WILL NOT BE CHANGED NEXT YEAR.

Course Selection Process and Reminders

You will need:
- Course Selection Sheet (handed out on January 31st in 5th Period)
- Transcript (Accessed online through SIS)
- Curriculum Guide
You will meet personally with your school counselor in April to review your course requests and make any needed changes. If you have questions before the April meeting, see your counselor before school, during lunch, or after school.
Course selection sheets are due to your 5th period teacher on February 21, 2025.
NO SHEET = NO CHOICES! Your counselor will pick your courses!
Grade Level Assembly Reminders:
- The Course Selection Sheet used to select courses is for next year
- In the left column mark to select the course
- Any class, academic or elective, followed by a blank box requires a teacher's signature
- Any class, academic or elective, followed by a black box does not require a teacher's signature
- Choose at least 3 electives and rank them #1-#3
- Courses in Italics are included in the calculation of BRIGHT FUTURES FMS/FAS GPA.
- Choose classes carefully. ELECTIVES will NOT be changed next year
- Failure to return the course selection sheet by the deadline will result in courses being selected for you by your counselor. No changes will be permitted
- $ Symbol = material cost/donation requested
- There is an application process for students interested in additional AP/AICE courses
- 1/23: AP/AICE/Dual Enrollment Showcase (Lunch)
- 1/24: AP/AICE Applications Open
- 1/30: AP/AICE Applications Close
- 2/7: AP/AICE Acceptances Posted
- Dual enrollment allows students to earn college credit while in high school. Except for the 2 classes offered through our Medical Department, all dual enrollment classes take place on the college campus
- Parent signs the Course Selection Sheet to approve
- To be eligible, students must have a 3.0 GPA and college ready test scores.
- Remember: Dual enrollment classes become part of the permanent college transcript and can impact college admissions and financial aid eligibility
