Palm Beach Lakes High Receives $10K Scholarship Funds in Honor of Former Law Academy Student
-
The Emanuel McMiller Scholarship for Higher Education (EMSHE) is a $10,000 scholarship fund established by Craig Goldenfarb, Esq., personal injury lawyer and owner of the West Palm Beach-based Law Offices of Craig Goldenfarb. The EMSHE benefits graduates of the Gerald A. Williams Center for Pre-Law at Palm Beach Lakes Community High School as they apply and matriculate to college and/or law school.
The award is named for Emanuel McMiller, a business litigation associate at Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP in Indianapolis. In his current role, McMiller helps companies resolve and manage disputes in litigation. He is a 2010 graduate of the Center for Pre-Law at Palm Beach Lakes High, and a former legal assistant for Craig Goldenfarb.
While a student at Palm Beach Lakes High, McMiller served as President of the Law Honor Society and the Debate Team. He was a member of the National Honor Society and the Mock Trial Team, as well as co-founder of the Moot Court Team.
McMiller received the 2009 and 2010 Center for Pre-Law Gavel Award, the 2009 and 2010 Florida High School Mock Trial Best Attorney Award, and the 2010 Florida High School Moot Court Golden Gavel and Best Brief Awards. He was also very active in the Palm Beach County Youth Court Program where he served as a Youth Attorney.
After graduating from Palm Beach Lakes High with honors, McMiller went on to attend Williams College in Massachusetts, earning his bachelor’s degree in political science. While there, he founded the Williams College Law Society.
He also wrote for the Law Journal, competed in the Law Society’s legal advocacy teams, sang in the gospel choir, and played rugby. Upon his graduation from Williams College in 2014, he returned to West Palm Beach to once again work for the Law Offices of Craig Goldenfarb.
McMiller earned his Juris Doctor from Notre Dame Law School in 2019, where he was active on campus as a member of the Moot Court Trial Team, the Black Law Students Association, and President of the Space Law Society.
