JetBlue Airways recently donated 750 headsets to Lake Worth Middle School, a show of support that will help the School District of Palm Beach County during the current era of distance learning. 

"JetBlue is committed to giving back to the community,” said Nicky Tesser, the Manager of Community and Crewmember Engagement for JetBlue. “We just want to help support the community, and with technology being so important, these headsets will ensure students stay connected to learning."

Students regularly use headsets during their instructional lessons as well as when they take tests. With a large percentage of students enrolled in distance learning, effective technology is critically important to student success.  

“This is a very generous donation from JetBlue, which is a true partner in education," said Adam Miller, the District's Director of Educational Technology. "Especially during this time of the pandemic, students having their own headsets will help them learn better and faster, and they can hear the lessons better from their teachers.”

   

Representatives from JetBlue visited the Fulton-Holland Educational Services Center to formally drop off the headsets. Miller and his staff were on hand to receive the donation, along with Lake Worth Middle School Assistant Principal Dawn Hartman, who noted the importance of the donation in helping ensure equity.

"This generous donation can help our underserved students who currently do not have their own individual headsets,” Hartman said. “We thank JetBlue for helping close the gap in serving the community."
