The School District of Palm Beach County’s School Effectiveness Questionnaire (SEQ) gives parents of enrolled students in all elementary, middle, and high school grades, students in grades 3-12, and school-based staff, an opportunity to submit feedback to the District.

The Winner Scholarship Awards at Jupiter Elementary

The Winner Scholarship, established 22 years ago at Jupiter Elementary, is a $1,000 scholarship to be used at the college, university, or vocational/ technical school of the recipient’s choice. Nominated students must be in grades three through five at Jupiter Elementary and must demonstrate the following: academic initiative, attendance, financial need, and family involvement. Five special winners were celebrated for 2023!

The Affordable Connectivity Program helps connect families and households struggling to afford internet service. The benefit provides a discount on internet service of up to $30 per month for eligible individuals.

Longtime District Professional Named School Psychologist of the Year

This week's Thank a Teacher winner was nominated by the mom of both a former student and a current student who said Kimberly Brobston "creates excitement and joy for learning" in her classroom at Heritage Elementary School. Mrs. Brobston received a $250 check from HCA Florida Healthcare.

Village of Wellington Grows Keeley Spinelli Grant to $407K for Wellington Schools

The Village of Wellington continues to be an outstanding partner with Wellington-area schools and the School District of Palm Beach County, and has been instrumental to the academic success of students. This year, the esteemed Keely Spinelli grant was increased to $407,000 with the following 11 Wellington schools receiving $37,000 each to aid students in reading and math.

Publix and The Education Foundation's Tools for Back to School

Volunteers from Publix Super Markets and District leaders joined the Education Foundation of Palm Beach County in distributing school supplies totaling more than $230,000. The donations were raised through Publix's Tools for Back to School campaign.

Christmas with the Chimps

In partnership with Lion Country Safari, going strong for over 10 years, elementary school students built enrichment activities to showcase their creativity and develop their skills in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math). They gift-wrapped their creations as holiday surprises for the Chimpanzees to enjoy during annual Christmas with the Chimps.

Education Foundation Groundbreaking

The Education Foundation of Palm Beach County, District leaders and administrators, and community supporters came together to break ground on a new 32,000-square-foot facility in Lake Worth Beach. Once it opens in late 2024, it will serve as an innovation hub, a professional development space, support more than 100 programs for students and teachers, and facilitate the expansion of Red Apple Supplies.

During the Palm Beach County School Board's Special Meeting on November 15, board members elected Vice Chair Karen Brill as the new Chair and School Board Member Barbara McQuinn as the new Vice Chair. Chair Brill represents District 3, and Vice Chair McQuinn represents District 1.

Palm Beach County School District and the Stiles-Nicholson Foundation Partner to Bring Khanmigo to District High School Students

On November 15, the School District of Palm Beach County announced a new partnership with the Stiles-Nicholson Foundation to expand the use of the Khan Academy suite of products and implement Khanmigo, an innovative AI-powered virtual tutor and teaching assistant, in the District's high schools. The initiative is championed by Dr. David Nicholson, Chairman of the Stiles-Nicholson Foundation.
