211 Emergency Assistance

  • By dialing 211 you can access a comprehensive information and referral resource available in Palm Beach and the Treasure Coast.  This service is for residents who need to speak to an Information & Referral Specialist or receive information about and/or linkage to the most appropriate community resources that can help.

    Callers are: 

    • Single parents trying to make it on their own
    • Parents struggling with out-of-control kids
    • Adult children concerned about their aging parents
    • Elderly adults trying to retain their independence
    • Depressed individuals trying  to keep their lives together
    • Young children that are alone and afraid
    • Teens struggling with adolescence
    • Financially disadvantaged individuals of all ages who are on the verge of being evicted or having their utilities shut off
    • Teachers, Social Workers, Judges, Nurses, and other Social Service Professionals working to meet the complex needs of their clients

    Pre-paid college programs offered by the state of Florida
    Diane Hirth, Marketing and Communications Director for the Florida Prepaid College Board, called and emailed to ask if we could publicize the Board's "other" program known as the Florida College Investment Plan, a tax-free savings option for a child's college education.

    "A link to College Investment Plan can be found currently through our Public Affairs web pages.  Please consider distributing this information to students and parents. Since this is a relatively new program."
