Title I Annual Meeting: Thank you for attending our annual Title I meeting, where we discussed your rights as parents of a child attending a Title I school. During the meeting, we reviewed school-wide data, remediation programs, and initiatives planned for this school year to support your child’s success. We also shared our School-Parent Compact and Family Engagement Plan and welcomed your feedback. You can access them through the following links:

SY25 Title I Annual Meeting - English
SY25 Title I Annual Meeting - Spanish - Parents' Right to Know Out-of-Field Notification Letters: This month, letters will be sent to certain students and their families. These letters inform families of their rights under Title I, detailing the qualifications of their child’s teachers and paraprofessionals.
- October 17, 2024 - Florida Alternative Assessment Workshop: This annual workshop is tailored for parents of students with severe cognitive disabilities who cannot complete the general FAST assessment. These students will participate in an alternative performance task assessment, evaluating their skills across all disciplines through various activities. Parents will receive accessible strategies and resources to help their children prepare for the spring assessment at home.
- October 24, 2024 - EOC Mathematics Night: This workshop is designed for parents of students enrolled in Algebra I and Geometry (high school credit courses). Instructional leaders will provide information on reporting categories and task demands for the upcoming assessment, as well as the platforms students will use throughout the year to prepare for the End-of-Course (EOC) assessment. Parents will receive strategies and resources to support their children in mastering various units of study.
- Science Fair: We will host our annual Science Fair on October 29, 2024, showcasing the experimental design analyses of our students in grades 6 through 8.
- November 7, 2024 - FAST/SSA/EOC Parent Night: We will examine the design of the FAST, SSA, and EOC Civic exam, analyze student achievement levels, explore the FAST portal platform, and share effective content area strategies aimed at improving student outcomes during this workshop.
- Report Cards: Student grades will be available in the SIS by October 15, 2024. Our second nine weeks will begin on October 15, 2024. You can monitor your child’s progress through the SIS Parent Gateway, which will include grades for both academics and behavior. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to our grade-level counselors or administrators. For assistance in creating an SIS Parent Gateway account, please click the link in the newsletter.
- Approaching Winter Diagnostics: Your child will complete winter diagnostics between December 2024 and January 2025. The results of the midterm and winter diagnostic assessments will be accessible through the SIS Parent Gateway. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact our grade-level counselors or administrators.
- Curriculum & Proficiency Levels: After each unit, assessments will be conducted across all subjects. A detailed breakdown of performance levels, along with their corresponding colors, is available in the newsletter to help differentiate achievement status:
- Green: Students have mastered the content and tackled the most challenging material in the USA assessment. They are officially in the Green Zone, where mastery resides.
- Yellow: Students are on track with a satisfactory pace. They have grasped challenging concepts, but there’s room for improvement. Think of this as a caution light reminding them they’re doing well, but with a little more effort, they could excel.
- Red: Students are performing below the satisfactory level, indicating that some challenging content areas need attention. However, Red is just a signal to hit the books harder and attend after-school tutorials, viewing it as an opportunity for growth rather than a stop sign!
AVID Binder Check: As an AVID site of distinction, it is imperative that our students come to school prepared with their materials, Chromebook, and AVID binder to stay organized. Maintaining the AVID binder reinforces the organizational skills needed to successfully manage a 6-course day.
Title I Afterschool Tutorials: After-school tutorials began on September 9, 2024. Our program provides support for ALL students, including a specialized program for Students with disabilities (SWD) and English Language Learners (ELL).
Pull-out/In-school tutorials will start in January, assisting students during an elective block at least twice or three times a week to promote growth in selected content areas. More information will be forthcoming.
