Mathematics
Glades Central Math department believes that mathematics is a necessary skill for all students. We are devoted to developing critically minded students who will be prepared to use fundamental mathematical concepts. Our vast curriculum is vital in the process of making certain our students are prepared for and successful in their future education and employment. Biology
Our mission is to provide students the opportunity to explore the science of life, in all of its complexity and diversity. We strive to develop each student's ability to acquire and critically interpret knowledge of basic facts and theories of biology, to add to the body of biological knowledge through research, and to communicate his or her understanding to others both within and outside the field of biology.

Marine Science
Marine Science introduces the most critical ecosystem for the health and future of humanity and the earth. From the tropical seas to the polar oceans, this course furthers the understanding of marine ecosystems, fisheries biology biogeochemical cycles to improve resources, health and societal well-being. Marine Science lays the pathway for success in Biology for our GCHS students.
Earth Space Science
Our primary mission is to provide students with an in-depth education in the areas of geology, Earth science, and space science. it is designed to interpret and understand the world around you. In order to do so, students will investigate and study the interactions between the four major Earth’s spheres in order to explain Earth’s formation, processes, history, landscapes, how and why Earth changes over time.
The course will also explore how current actions of man interact and affect Earth’s spheres leading to local and global changes. Students will participate in laboratory exercises, small group activities, web-based investigations, class discussions, projects, and research.Chemistry
This course is designed to help students understand basic chemical principles and master problem-solving skills. Students will develop an understanding of how those concepts and skills are relevant to other courses and their daily lives. Chemical topics covered in the course include basic science concepts, measurements, atomic theory, bonding, stoichiometry, states of matter, solutions, and acids & bases.

AICE Marine
Cambridge International AS and A Level Marine Science provides a coherent and stimulating introduction to the science of the marine environment. The AS part of the course concentrates on the scientific study of the sea and its ecosystems. The emphasis throughout is on the understanding of concepts and the application of ideas to new contexts as well as on the acquisition of knowledge, and the course encourages creative thinking and problem-solving skills which are transferable to any future career path.
AICE Environmental
This AS syllabus covers environmental issues and their management, especially the human aspect. Through their studies, learners gain an understanding of environmental resources and their human exploitation, and the goal of sustainable environmental management.

Social Studies
The Glades Central Social Studies curriculum offers students a variety of opportunities for learning. History, culture, social science, economics, geography, law, and government are presented across the curriculum.
In addition to mastering content, the social studies program stresses skills, attitudes and effective oral and written communication. Students will also be encouraged to fulfill some of their course requirements using a cross-discipline approach.
