Howell L. Watkins Middle School officially became an authorized International Baccalaureate World School in August 2019, joining over 1300 schools and 108 countries. Our school is designed as an inclusive whole-school IB/MYP programme.

The MYP (Middle Years Program) is a five-year programme (grades 6-10). Students that are enrolled in the HLW MYP program will receive strand preference when applying for a district IB/DP school. Please see the Choice Handbook for schools.

Even though H.L. Watkins is a whole school IB program, students should apply through the Choice Application process to ensure they provide the coding pathway for future IB programs. For more information, please contact Samantha Roberts, Choice Coordinator.
