Athletic Honor Society
National Athletic Honor SocietyThe National Athletic Honor Society is an honor society that is comprised of student athletes with a GPA of 3.2 or higher and at least 2 years on a varsity team or 3 years on a jv team. Business Honor Society
NBHS strives to promote and recognize academic achievement in business education,foster and recognize leadership skills and character development, help members grow ethically and socially by promoting and encouraging an interest in business and
encourage member involvement in service learning instinctive.
Requirements to become a member and maintain membershipTo qualify for membership, a student must be a high school junior or senior. The student must have completed or be currently enrolled in his/her third business course.
The student must have a minimum standard GPA, on a 4.0 scale, as follows: business courses average:3.5; overall average-3.0.

Computer Honor Society
Computer Science Honor Society (CSHS)DescriptionThe Computer Science Honor Society is a nationally recognized organization sponsored by the Computer Science Teachers Association. Its charter is to cultivate thriving environments for success in computer science in the school community by encouraging students’ enthusiasm, honoring academic excellence, and promoting service. The society is student led and membership is established by application and academic success in an AP CS course at Spanish River.Requirements to become a member and maintain membership:1. Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or better
2. Earn at least a B while completing at least one semester of an AP CS course
3. Avoid academic integrity violations
4. Agree to adhere to the Spanish River CSHS BylawsHow/When to applyThe application window opens at the beginning of the school year (late August) and then again at the beginning of semester 2 (January). Interested students will be provided with a Google Classroom code so they can apply. Once the application window closes, students will be notified of acceptance status. Pertinent information will be aired on WSRH and announced in computer science classes.For more information contact: -
French Honor Society
National French Honor Society
La Société Honoraire de Français recognizes outstanding scholarship in the study of French language. The chapter provides a vehicle for focusing activities around French language and culture.Students who meet the following qualifications will receive an invitation.- Candidates must be enrolled in the fourth semester of French or higher, i.e., the second semester of Level II or the equivalent
- Candidates must be in the 10th, 11th or 12th grade of high school. Exception is made for 9th grade students who meet requirement "1" above because of work at the middle school or junior high level
- Transfer students must have spent at least one full semester in the high school before becoming eligible for invitation to membership.
Scholastic Eligibility Requirements to be met by all students:- Candidates must have maintained an A- (90) average or higher in French throughout their secondary school study of French, including the semester of selection and all previous work awarded secondary school credit.
- Candidates must have maintained a B- (80) average or higher in all other secondary school subjects prior to the semester of selection.

Spring 2024 Application LinkApplication Due Date: 4/15/24 No exceptions.Eligible students meeting the following criteria will be considered: 3.5 GPA or 3.8 HPA, at least 50 logged hours of community service, and no discipline referrals. Members will be required to participate in drives and events, offer peer tutoring during lunch, and continue to be an exemplary student. -
Psychology Honors Society
Psychology Honors SocietyThe Psychology Honors Society invites students who plan to major or minor in psychology, as well as students who simply have an interest in psychology. Our mission is to enhance understanding and knowledge of the science of psychology, how psychology benefits society, and career opportunities available in psychology.Requirements to become a member and maintain membership- Minimum 3.5 unweighted GPA
- Are currently enrolled in, or have completed, Psychology or Sociology
- Maintain AT LEAST a B average overall

Social Studies Honor Society
Rho Kappa National Social Studies Honor Society
Juniors
• ALREADY earned 4 credits in social studies classes by December of the current school year
• Minimum 3.5 unweighted GPA in those social studies classes.
• To retain membership, the juniors must work towards a minimum of 7 credits in social studies courses upon graduation while maintaining a minimum 3.5 unweighted GPA.
AND
Seniors
• ALREADY earned 5.5 credits in social studies courses
• Currently enrolled in one course with a minimum 3.5 unweighted cumulative GPA in those social studies classes
• To retain membership, the seniors must continue to work towards a minimum of 6 credits in social studies courses upon graduation while maintaining a minimum 3.5 unweighted GPA.How/when to apply- applications will be made available for current Juniors in the month of February
