    Cognia District Accreditation

    SDPBC accepting Cognia certification

The School District of Palm Beach County successfully completed a four-month audit-style Engagement Review for Accreditation renewal in April 2023. Following approval from Cognia’s Board of Commission in June 2023, a recognition presentation occurred during the August 16th School Board Meeting.

The Accreditation Renewal process was led by a two-person team. The Team evaluated the District’s effectiveness across 30 standards related to 4 Key Characteristic Themes: Culture of Learning, Leadership in Learning, Engagement in Learning, and Growth in Learning. The process aims to continually improve the institution.

The District received Full Accreditation credentialing with an Index of Education Quality (IEQ) score of 350, indicating it meets Cognia’s accreditation standards. Notable practices were identified such as a Strategic Plan promoting Continuous Improvement processes and a Professional Learning Program supporting equity-based learning.

A 3-year Mid-Year progress report is expected in 2026, requiring System Feedback for ongoing improvement.
