Thank you for your interest in the Voluntary Prekindergarten program at Lighthouse Elementary! There is very limited space for our VPK program, so for this reason, we hold a lottery. This year, our VPK registration will kick off on January 27, 2025, and end on February 27, 2025. There is no need to rush to submit your packet early in the window. The most important thing is to bring all required documentation by February 27, 2025 to be considered for the 2025-2026 school year. 

Available seats in VPK will be drawn on Friday, February 28, 2025 from all completed packets. For those not selected in the initial seats of the drawing, please know that we build our wait list through the same lottery, drawing until all completed packets are randomly ordered. School District staff and siblings have priority and are drawn first, then those in the boundary and finally, those outside of the boundary. You can verify your boundary assignment on the website. 

Here is a list of required documents that must be in your packet in order for your child to be considered for the VPK Lottery:

• Completed Student Registration filled out and signed.
• Original birth certificate or Passport (a copy will be made)
• 2 different forms of proof of residence (proof of residence list)
• Current Record of Immunization (Form DH 680 - Florida Certification of Immunization)
• Record of Physical (School Entry Health Exam Form DH 3040) - Must be dated after 8/12/2024.
  
  • Part 1 - Child’s Medical History filed and signed by Parent/Guardian
  • Part 2 - Medical Evaluation to be filled out, signed and dated by Clinic/Doctor
• VPK Voucher of Eligibility filled out, signed and dated in blue ink - Original document -NO COPY

The Lighthouse VPK ‘26 Lottery results will be announced via email or phone directly for those who are given a seat, and also those given a spot on the waitlist.

We offer two program options:

• Full Day: 8am-2pm -Wraparound (fee applies)
• 1/2 Day AM: 8-11am
• 1/2 Day PM: 12-3pm - No extra fee

*Your child may only attend one 1/2 Day program.
