Dr. Lauren Granite Biography & Presentation
Dr. Lauren Granite directs Centropa's US educational programs. Prior to joining the Centropa staff, she spent more than a dozen years teaching Jewish history in colleges, a Jewish day school, and congregational schools. As a teacher, Lauren created Centropa's first cross-cultural projects with Berlin and Budapest, and since 2010 she has been building Centropa’s network of US schools; running workshops and seminars; mentoring teachers; writing lessons and projects; and establishing teacher advisory teams to help develop Centropa’s programming.
A Different History: Jews, Holocaust, & Spanish Culture
In this 45 minute session, presenters will share resources from Centropa (www.centropa.org) for teaching about Sephardic Jews—Jews originally from Spain—and their experiences in the Holocaust.
