The graduation rate for Palm Beach County schools leads the large urban school districts in Florida and exceeds the state average, according to the Florida Department of Education (FDOE). The graduation rate increased from 89% to 90.5% overall, and from 92.8% to 94.1% for District-operated schools. Over a five year period, the graduation rate increased by 3.4%.  

“This achievement represents our students being prepared and ready for life beyond high school,” Superintendent Mike Burke said. “I am proud of all the accomplishments of the Class of 2023, and appreciate the dedicated team of educators, staff, and administrators who have made this achievement possible.”

Additional accomplishments include:

• From FY19 to FY23, District-operated schools showed an increase, or remained stable, in graduation rates for all subgroups. 

• Twenty-one (87.5%) of the 24 District-operated high schools had graduation rates of 90% or higher.

• Six schools (25%) had graduation rates of 99% or higher: Alexander W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts, Olympic Heights, Spanish River, Suncoast, Village Academy (100%), and West Boca Raton.

• Nine schools (37.5%) increased their graduation rates by two or more percentage points from FY22.

• Of the District Alternative and ESE centers, Crossroads Academy, Riviera Beach Preparatory, Turning Points Academy, Royal Palm School, and Palm Beach Virtual increased their graduation rates from FY19 to FY23.
