Extended Learning Philosophy
The purpose of the Department of Extended Learning is to facilitate opportunities for quality afterschool programs which meet the fundamental needs common to all students during afterschool hours. It is important that students have access to the best possible opportunities to develop into healthy, well-adjusted and responsible adults.

Fees
Payments are due the first school day of the month. If you are paying by installments, the first payment is due the first school day of the month and the second payment is due in the middle of the month. There is a $5 late fee if payment is not made on time. Failure to pay can result in your child being removed from the program. Fee Payment Agreements are available if needed. Once your child is removed, your child cannot rejoin the program until (1) your balance is paid, (2) the current month is paid, and (3) there is space available in the group.
To pay online, payments can be made online using SchoolCashOnline.com. Parents that receive ELC may pay by cash, check, or money order made out to Banyan Creek Elementary.
If you are late picking up your child, it is $1 minute. If your child is part-time and you are constantly late, we can change your child to full-time.
FAQs
-
If I sign up my child as part-time, but then want to switch to full-time, can I?
Yes. You can switch your child from part to full or full to part time on a monthly basis.
-
Can I remove my child from the program and then put them back in if I need to?
As long as space is available, you can. Once you remove your child (stop paying), we can fill the spot with a student on the wait list. Paying for the month is the only way to save their spot.
-
If my child is on the wait list, will they ever get off?
The only way we can take students off the wait list is if a current student leaves the program or if a new staff member is hired. Afterschool must follow the ratios put in place by The School District of Palm Beach County.
-
Do students get a snack during afterschool? Does it cost anything extra?
Yes. The school's cafeteria provides snacks for all students when they are released from school at 2:00 pm. A second snack is provided to full-time students after 4:00 pm. There is no additional cost for the snack.
-
Will my child get homework help if they need it?
Yes, each group has a scheduled time to work on homework and their counselors are there to assist if they need it. If you notice their homework is not getting completed, please notify us. Many times, children will say they don't have any or already completed it. We cannot go through their bags but we can say your parent wants you to show me.
