Welcome to the Carver Middle School Before and Afterschool Program!
We are thrilled to have you and your child join us in our enriching program designed to foster growth, learning, and community. Our program is committed to creating a safe and nurturing environment where students can thrive in multiple aspects of their development. One of the core values of our program is to strengthen the bond between families and the Carver Middle School community. By participating in our program, students will not only enhance their personal development but also contribute to building a vibrant and inclusive school community.Program Highlights
- Academic Enrichment: Our activities are tailored to support academic learning and curiosity. Students will have opportunities to receive homework help, participate in tutoring sessions, and engage in projects that enhance their understanding of various subjects.
- Extracurricular Activities: Beyond academics, we offer a variety of activities to explore new interests and develop life skills. These include:
- Social and Emotional Development: Programs aimed at building resilience, empathy, and effective communication skills.
- Health and Fitness: Activities to promote physical well-being, including sports, dance, and wellness workshops.
- STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics): Engaging projects and experiments to foster a love for science and innovation.
- Mentoring: Guidance and support from community members and teachers to inspire and motivate students.
- Creative Arts: Opportunities to express creativity through arts and crafts, music, drama, and more.
Registration
Enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis. Parents/guardians must follow and complete ALL steps below to fully register their child in the morning program and/or afternoon program. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.- Complete the registration form: Please click the link to download the application form MSAS Program Application SY24-25 - OR - You may pick up the registration form from the main office. An application is needed for each child enrolled in the MSAS program. (Please indicate which program AM or PM you are interested in on the application form)
- Elyeo Registration: Palm Beach County School District Afterschool Programs are excited to announce a partnership with Eleyo, an easy-to-use, mobile-friendly technology for online registration, account management, and payments.
- Submit documentation of your eligibility status for free or reduced lunch along with MSAS Application. If the child(ren) does not qualify for the Free or Reduced Lunch Program, documentation of your eligibility status is still required. A waiver form may be provided to waive the $35 registration fee for the 2024-2025 school year in the MSAS program. Please email the Aftercare Director, Trenika Stephens, if you have any questions or need a waiver form.
- Parents/guardians will be notified of program acceptance via email on file with Carver Middle School. Please feel free to contact the Aftercare Director, Trenika Stephens, to check the status of your application.
Hours of Operation
Office Hours: 8:00 – 8:45 am and 4:30 – 5:45 pm, Monday through Friday.
Morning Program: 7:45 – 8:45 am, Monday – Friday
Afternoon Program: 4:15 – 5:45 pm, Monday – Thursday (NO afterschool program on Fridays). Students may not be dropped off prior to 7:45 am, and all students must be picked up before 6:00 pm. Students must be registered and accepted into the morning or afterschool programs before attending.Daily Schedule
Morning program: To ensure proper supervision is available, students must not arrive at campus before 7:45 am. Parents and guardians drop students off at the main office, and a staff member will be present to receive students and escort them to the media center. Students participating in the morning program are expected to arrive by 8:30 am. Breakfast will be provided for students starting at 9:00 am.Homework (20 minutes to one hour)/Other Required Activities: All students will work on their homework assignments for at least 20 minutes. If students are not assigned homework by their teacher, they will be given an academic assignment or assist peers in assignments. After the allotted homework time, students will choose an activity to participate in for the remainder of the session.
Afterschool program: The afternoon program begins at 4:15 pm and ends at 5:45 pm. All afterschool program participants will report to the cafeteria, and staff members will then pick up the students and accompany them to their assigned meeting areas. Failure to arrive by 4:15 PM, will result in students not being able to participate in MSAS activities for that day. Students are dismissed from all afterschool activities at 5:45 pm to the parent pick-up area or activity buses. Parents/ guardians must come inside the main office to complete an electronic dismissal form that will be used for parents to sign for students who are dismissed before 5:45 pm. Only adults listed on the registration form may “sign out” students. An ID will be required. If changes are made to the pick-up list, please notify the director via email.

Late Pick-Up Policy
Students must be picked up no later than 6:00 pm. Parents/guardians are considered late at 6:00 pm. A late fee of $5 will be charged every 15 minutes after 6:00 pm and will be collected on the same day of the occurrence. Students will be barred from participating in the program/activities until all late fees are paid. After three instances of late pickup, the student will be dismissed from the MSAS programs. An activity bus is available for students at designated stops.Transportation
Afternoon activity buses will be available starting on Monday, August 19th, 2024. Routes for the Activity Buses will be listed when available. Routes and times are subject to change. Buses are provided ONLY Monday through Thursday. The activity buses depart campus at approximately 5:45 pm each day. Please note that regular afternoon bus stops are NOT used in the evening, so parents/guardians should consult the activity bus schedule to find the most convenient stops.
