Cell Phones/Headphones Policy
- Cell phones & headphones should not be seen, heard, or used during instructional time unless the teacher authorizes it for educational purposes.
- If your phone becomes a disruption during class time, the device will be confiscated, and a disciplinary consequence will be given.
- Taking photos or videos in classrooms is not permitted.
- Portable speakers are not permitted on campus at any time.
Olympic Heights High School is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Locker rooms and unattended backpacks are easy targets for potential thefts. Students are urged to lock up their cell phones/headphones during PE or extracurricular activities.

Sign In/Out Policy
Sign-In
- Students who arrive after the start of school must sign in at the Front Office to receive a tardy pass to class.
- Doctor's notes and other documentation need to be presented to have the tardy excused.
Sign-Out
- Early dismissal notes must be presented to the Front Office before school begins.
- Notes must contain the student’s name, student number, date, time, reason for dismissal, and method of departure. The parent will be contacted to verify the letter.
- Parents/guardians must meet their child in the Main Office to be signed out before release.
- Students cannot be signed out of school after 2:15 p.m.
We do not accept restaurant deliveries for student lunches or any other time of day.

Tardy & Attendance Policies
Tardies
- Students are tardy if they are standing outside of the classroom door when the bell stops ringing.
- Tardies 1-4 result in a pass to class.
- Tardies 5-8 will result in a Thursday Afternoon detention
- 9 or more will be loss of privileges for the remainder of the quarter, parking on campus, field trips, pep rallies and attending sporting events (athletes included)
- Tardies 15 + will be considered insubordination and will result in a day of in-school suspension and loss of extracurricular privileges.
- More than 50 minutes late will result in an absence.
Attendance
- Lack of consistent attendance negatively impacts the learning process.
- Make-up work is assigned to cover what was missed but will never have the same impact as the original lesson.

Universal ID Badge Policy
All students are required to wear their school ID according to School Board Policy 5.0115, “Student Photo Identification Badge (ID Badge).”
The purpose of the policy is to ensure that all Palm Beach County students utilize a uniform, school-issued photo identification badge, thus providing for greater campus safety, accountability, and operational efficiency.
