The Bak Mandatory Summer Assignments are for students attending Bak for the 2025-26 school year (SY26). The assignments and requirements listed below are MANDATORY. Students are responsible for completing the assigned work. Artificial Intelligence and/or math solving sites/software may NOT be used to complete any part of these assignments. All work must be the product of the student's knowledge, understanding, skills, and talents. 

Students will receive a grade/grades for the summer assignments and will have various assessments/tests based on the requirements for each grade level. Students must wait until they come to school to get guidance from their teachers on how and when to submit the assignment. Students DO NOT bring their assignments on the first day of school. The teacher will let them know when to bring it. 

The Mandatory English Language Arts (ELA)/Reading Assignment - requires students to read the book assigned to their grade level. These books can be found at your local library, downloaded or purchased online, or purchased at various locations (e.g., Amazon, Barnes & Noble). The paperback costs range from $5.00 to $9.00 dollars. 

The Mandatory Math Assignments are what students should have learned in past math courses. The SY26 summer math assignments are assigned based on what math course the student completed in the 2024-25 school year. These lessons require students to demonstrate what they know, understand, and are able to do - these are prerequisite math skills for the upcoming course. These are BASIC math skills - this math work does not represent the rigors of the course. 

Mandatory - English Language Arts (ELA) Reading Summer Assignments 

• Students who will be entering 6th grade in the 2025-26 School Year Must Complete the 6th grade ELA Assignment.
• Students who will be entering 7th grade in the 2025-26 School Year Must Complete the 7th grade ELA Assignment.
• Students who will be entering 8th grade in the 2025-26 School Year Must Complete the 8th grade ELA Assignment.

MANDATORY - MATH SUMMER ASSIGNMENTS (SY25 = 2004-25 school year)

1. Students who completed 5th grade regular math in SY25 must complete the 6th grade regular/6th grade accelerated math packet. 
2. Students who completed 6th grade regular math in SY25 must complete the 7th grade regular math packet.
3. Students who completed 6th grade accelerated math in grade 5 (called AMP5 when in 5th grade) or 6th grade accelerated math in SY25 must complete the 7th accelerated & 8th grade Pre-algebra packet.
4. Students who completed 7th grade regular math in SY25 must complete the 7th grade accelerated/ 8th grade Pre-Algebra.
5. Students who completed 7th grade accelerated math or 8th grade Pre-Algebra in SY25 must complete the Algebra I packet.
6. Students who completed Algebra I Honors in SY25 must complete the Geometry Packet.
