Army JROTC

  • JROTC color guardThe Seminole Ridge High School Army JROTC Academy is a four-year program that serves as a character and leadership development program. This program is open to Seminole Ridge students who both live in and outside the school’s attendance boundaries.

Army JROTC allows Cadets to learn new information, practice competency, and apply the competency to a real-life situation. The four-part model requires Cadets to collaborate, reflect, develop critical thinking skills, and integrate content with other disciplines. The curriculum includes lessons in leadership, health and wellness, physical fitness, first-aid, geography, American history and government, communications, financial readiness and emotional intelligence. Students will enroll in the AJROTC classes every year as well as carry a full academic schedule. Upon completion, students are under no obligation to enlist in the armed forces; however, successful completion of the AJROTC program allows entry into the armed forces up to two pay grades higher than other enlistees without AJROTC experience.
