AVID: Advancement via Individual Determination

AVID is a college and career readiness system that takes students with the potential and determination to go to succeed in post-high school endeavors and supports their academic success in the rigorous courses required to get into those four-year universities or career institutions. In the AVID elective course, students are taught the skill sets (purposeful note-taking, organization, public speaking, responsibility, etc.) necessary to be successful in those rigorous courses as well as being exposed to various career options through guest speakers and field trips.

AVID creates a positive support system for the students, so that they push each other to strive for success.
