Posted on 12/7/2023
During the Palm Beach County School Board's Special Meeting on November 15, board members elected Karen Brill as the new Chair and Barbara McQuinn as the new Vice Chair. Chair Brill represents District 3, and Vice Chair McQuinn represents District 1.
Elected to the School Board in November 2010, Chair Brill has been involved in public education locally and at the state level for more than 28 years, most notably as an advocate for students with disabilities.
Vice Chair McQuinn has more than 30 years of experience as an educator in the Palm Beach County School District, giving her a valuable perspective and understanding of the District’s needs. She was first elected to the School Board in November 2016.
“Under their visionary leadership, I am confident the School District of Palm Beach County will continue to excel,” Superintendent Mike Burke said. “Their expertise and unwavering commitment to delivering the highest quality education for our students will be instrumental in shaping the future of our District.”
