How many pay periods will teachers receive referendum pay?
Teachers will receive referendum pay for 22 pay periods in a contract year if they start at the beginning of the contract period.

How much will teachers receive for their referendum pay?

Will there be times when referendum pay is not included on a paycheck?
If a teacher does not receive a regular biweekly paycheck, he/she will not receive referendum pay for that pay period. Referendum pay will also not be included in summer paychecks since it is paid over 22 pay periods.

What if all days in the contract period are not worked?
If not all days in a contract period are worked, referendum pay will be reconciled at the end of the school year.

Will work experience change during the year on the work anniversary date?
No. Work experience due to an additional year working at the District will increase the following school year.

What if work experience changes during the school year?
There are times when paperwork is received after a teacher has started working, and work experience needs to be updated. Human Resoures will notify Payroll, and the employee will receive the new amount on a following payroll. The employee will also receive retro pay from the effective date of the work experience change.

How long is the referendum in effect?
Palm Beach County voters approved the 1 Mill Referendum that will generate funds for this to continue over the next four years (Fiscal Years 20-23). Absent voter approval of a future referendum, the retention supplements will cease at the end of the 2022-23 school year.

Can referendum pay be seen in Employee Self Service?
Yes, referendum pay will appear in Employee Self Service on the last Friday of each pay period. After logging into PeopleSoft, click on the "My Time" tile. The "Payable Time Summary" tab will show referendum pay as RF1 (work experience 1-4 years), RF2 (work experience 5-9 years), or RF3 (work experience 10 or more years).

How will referendum pay appear on the pay stub?
Referendum pay will appear as "Referendum Supplement" on the pay stub.

Do retention supplements funded by the referendum count towards my retirement?
Yes, retention supplements reflect Florida Retirement System (FRS) eligible earnings and may count towards an employee's Average Final Compensation (AFC) as calculated by the FRS.
