Dominga Xuncax is the first Maya-Q’anjoba’l teacher in Palm Beach County. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida. Ms. Xuncax has been working for the Palm Beach County School District as an Akateko/Q’anjob’al Translator/Interpreter II and Maya Liaison, since 1996. She speaks Q’anjob’al, Akateko, English and Spanish. Her honors include earning a Presidential Scholarship, graduating Cum Laude, receiving Martin County’s “Appreciation for Outstanding Services to Western Martin County 1990”, and the “International TESOL Introduction to the Modern Maya 1999”.
