Lilly Salcedo Biography & Presentation
Lilly Salcedo is a World Languages/ESOL Instructional Specialist in the PBCSD Department of Multicultural Education. She has taught Pre-K to College courses in Long Island, New York with over 20 years of experience. Her instructional experience spans across various subjects including Spanish, French, Italian, ESOL, and Education college courses. She holds a Bachelors in Secondary Education with a minor in Romance Language and a double Master in ESOL and Literacy Education from Dowling College and St John's University. She also earned her CAS in Building and District Leadership from College of St. Rose. Lilly Salcedo continues to be an ambassador for students' success stories by empowering educators to never stop loving what they do.
Taking the Baton of Bilingualism & Biculturalism: Student Perspectives on the Impact of Spanish Language Learning
In this session, current students and alumni of the PBCSD will share how their participation in the district’s Spanish World Language and/or Dual Language courses enabled them to develop their Spanish language abilities and embrace their bicultural identity. Join in to hear students share how their experiences in PBCSD Spanish courses positively influenced them in a variety of ways, including increased language skills, cultural awareness, personal identity, college and career readiness, and global-mindedness.
